Contact lenses - see the world with crisp edges.
Contact lenses are a popular means of correcting eye
impediments for those that do not wish to wear glasses.
Most people are able to wear contacts, although there
are the rare few that are sensitive to the material.
Therefore, it is very important for all of those who are
planning to wear contact lenses to consult with their
ophthalmologist or optometrist first.
Contact lenses can be made from a great assortment of
plastics. However, these plastics fall into two major
categories. They are either soft or rigid gas permeable.
Soft contacts are typically 25-80% water in composition,
and are hence quite comfortable and adaptable to the
eyes.
Contact lenses that are rigid gas permeable are not
quite as adaptable but they are a lot more durable than
the soft lenses. They are also more resistant to
build-up of debris. They also tend to provide crisper
vision than a soft lens. A soft lens tends to last a
couple of weeks, while a rigid lens can be worn for
several years.
Some
contact lenses conveniently come with UV blockers, but
users must be wary that these are not a replacement for
sunglasses.
Improve your eyesight with contact lenses.
