Say
goodbye to limited vision with progressive lenses.
Progressive lenses, otherwise known as no-line bifocals,
are popular because they help disguise the fact that
their wearer needs reading glasses. Progressive lenses
correct for visual distances that normal bifocals are
not capable of fixing.
In
the simplest terms, progressive lenses provide both near
and distance correction within a single lens. However,
these contacts are capable of doing more than just these
basics. They are termed “progressive” because they
facilitate an even shift from distance, intermediate,
and near. They also account for all other tiny
gradations in vision correction.
The
smooth connection between the correction of different
distances means that wearers of progressive lenses are
able to look far into the distance as they gaze at the
clouds in the sky. They are then able to quickly shift
their gaze to something in their immediate vicinity,
such as the hamburger on the grill in front of them, and
have that image come into focus instantly.
There
are a large variety of progressive lenses on the market
today. The main difference between these contacts is in
the width of their corridor of optimal vision. One’s eye
care practitioner will be the most qualified to
determine the corridor width for each prescription.
